English translation of the membership rules displayed on the official registration form, revised May 21, 2025.
1. Monthly and annual fees
Members must pay monthly fees by the specified due date. For bank-account payments, the following month's fee is automatically debited from the designated account on the 27th of each month. For credit-card payments, the payment date is determined by the card issuer.
Monthly fees remain payable even if you do not use the gym during that month, and will not be refunded. If an account debit fails or monthly fees are overdue, the gym may, at its discretion, charge a late-payment fee of ¥1,000 per month. The ¥3,000 annual fee supports improvements to the gym's facilities, furnishings and equipment. It is charged separately from monthly fees each year in the month you joined.
2. Pausing or cancelling membership
Complete the gym's pause/cancellation application form and submit it in person at the gym. Applications cannot be made by telephone, email, LINE or social media. The deadline is the 7th of each month for a pause or cancellation taking effect from the following month or later. Applications received after the deadline are treated as applications for the following month.
All outstanding monthly fees must be paid when completing the procedure. Members with preferential discounted fees may resume after a pause on the same terms, without a joining fee. These preferential terms do not apply if you cancel and later rejoin.
There is a ¥500 monthly fee during a membership pause. You cannot use any gym classes or facilities while your membership is paused or cancelled. Membership and the obligation to pay monthly fees continue until the formal cancellation procedure is complete. All outstanding monthly fees remain payable after cancellation.
3. Training injuries
Members are responsible for accidents and injuries occurring in the gym that arise from their own responsibility. Power of Dream Gym accepts no responsibility for such accidents or injuries.
4. Damage to property
If you damage property, facilities or equipment by failing to use them correctly, you must pay the full cost of the damage.
5. Member information and photographs
Notify the gym promptly of changes to your address, telephone number, email address, bank-account information or other membership details. Photographs or videos of training taken inside the gym may be posted on the gym's website, social media or other online channels without prior notice.
6. Valuables
Use the valuables storage boxes when needed. Ask staff how to use them. The gym accepts no responsibility for theft or loss inside the gym.
7. Membership eligibility
Members or associates of antisocial forces, including organized crime groups, and anyone the gym considers unsuitable for membership are not permitted to join. If this becomes apparent after joining, or if the gym determines that a member is unsuitable, the membership agreement will be terminated.
8. Compensation for damage and leaving without formal cancellation
If a member engages in serious nuisance, defamation, obstruction of business, property damage (including online), or other conduct that seriously harms the gym's reputation or image or that of its associates, the gym will expel the member and may demand an amount equal to 12 months of membership fees plus compensation according to the extent of the damage.
If monthly fees are unpaid for 3 months or more and the member has also been out of contact for 3 months or more, the gym may place the membership on a compulsory pause and switch subsequent debits to the ¥500 monthly pause fee.
If the pause fees are also unpaid and the member does not complete the formal pause or cancellation procedure, the gym will regard this as an improper departure without notice. The membership will be treated as continuing, and all monthly membership fees for the period of arrears, plus late-payment charges of ¥1,000 per month, will be claimed. Where necessary, the gym may instruct a lawyer and pursue payment orders, small-claims proceedings or other legal action.
After considering the circumstances, the gym may reduce or waive all or part of late-payment charges and other amounts claimed, excluding unpaid monthly membership fees, if it considers that the member has acted in good faith.
9. Temporary closures, class changes and announcements
The gym may close or change classes due to weather, official warnings, competitions, events or other unavoidable circumstances. Changes will be announced through the official POD GYM group LINE, website, social media or similar channels.
10. Gym rules, including for parents, and training or competing elsewhere
Smoking is prohibited inside the gym. Be considerate when using your telephone, and keep conversation to a minimum while watching classes.
Visiting another martial arts gym or dojo to train, competing, or taking part in martial arts media activities, projects or events without permission will result in expulsion without exception. Such conduct is also subject to the compensation provisions in Article 8.
People with tattoos may join and train, but should wear a rash guard, T-shirt or similar clothing to keep tattoos covered as much as possible. Please also be considerate of other members in changing rooms and elsewhere so that they do not feel intimidated.
11. Changes to fees and rules
The gym may change monthly fees, annual fees and other charges due to changes in consumption tax, social conditions or other unavoidable circumstances. The gym may also revise or change these rules, and the changes will apply to all members.
