More training partners. More ways to grow.

Our striking classes regularly bring together around 30 people, with a wide range of builds, strengths and fighting styles. Having plenty of partners to practise with is one of POD GYM’s greatest strengths.

Many members already compete or are working towards their first fight. You will train alongside people who are serious about martial arts.

Competition can bring you face to face with all kinds of opponents. Training with different partners helps you learn to read distance and movement, build experience and adapt when it counts. Push each other forward and make every session rewarding.

Q&A

Before your first session.

QAre beginners and women welcome?

Yes. Whether you want to get active, manage your weight or develop martial arts skills, you can train at a level that suits your goals. Watch or try a class to get a feel for the gym.

QDo I need to book a visit or trial?

No booking is required. Arrive before your chosen class or within 30 minutes of the start. Your first trial is free: choose one striking, grappling or wrestling class.

QWhat should I wear and bring for a striking class?

Wear clothes you can move freely in, such as a T-shirt and shorts, with no metal parts such as zips or buttons.

  • Your own gloves, if you have them
  • Hand wraps or cotton work gloves
  • A towel for wiping away sweat
  • A spare T-shirt

If you have your own gloves, please bring them. Gloves are also available to borrow at the gym. When using borrowed gloves, you must wear your own hand wraps or cotton work gloves underneath.

If you have neither hand wraps nor cotton work gloves, clean cotton work gloves are available to buy at the gym for ¥100. Bring a separate towel if you plan to shower.

QWhat should I wear and bring for grappling or wrestling classes?

Shorts and a T-shirt are fine. Choose clothes you can move freely in, with no metal parts such as zips or buttons.

Bring a towel for sweat and a spare T-shirt. If you plan to shower, bring a separate towel to dry off.

QDo we train barefoot? What hygiene etiquette should I follow?

We train mainly barefoot. If your hands or feet are dirty or have an odour, please wash them in the shower room or another suitable washing area when you arrive, before training. Dry them with a towel before stepping onto the mats.

Please be especially mindful of sweat and odour in summer, and train with clean hands, feet and clothing. Thank you for helping keep training comfortable for everyone.

QHow often can I train?

Train at your own pace during opening hours. Except for fitness memberships, all membership types allow daily access to all classes. Ask a coach about prerequisites for classes such as MMA.

QWhat if I don't receive my registration email?

Check the email address you entered and your spam folder. Add podgym24@gmail.com and autoreply@form-mailer.jp to your safe senders list, and check that your inbox has space for new messages.

QHow do I pause or cancel my membership?

Contact the gym to arrange a visit, then complete and submit the required paperwork at reception by the 7th of the month before you want the pause or cancellation to take effect. Contacting us alone does not complete the process. Any outstanding fees must be paid before the request can be accepted. Paused memberships cost ¥500 per month, and the annual fee remains due in your joining month. Members who received a joining-fee waiver generally cannot pause or cancel within their first 3 months.

QCan visitors and members of other gyms train here?

Yes, drop-in visits are available. Members of other gyms can also join open grappling sparring on Saturdays from 19:00–20:00 for a ¥500 entry fee. Please arrive around 18:45, introduce yourself and train with care for both your own safety and your partners'.
